- Standard indicators can no longer be edited by the user; upon making changes to a standard indicator and attempting to save, the user will be prompted to save the indicator as a custom indicator under a new name; If the user elects to save their changes, the modified, newly saved indicator will become a new custom indicator with a modified Name, a modified ShortName, and a unique file name (same as ShortName) in the folder designated for VT Trader custom indicators; Furthermore, since standard indicators can no longer be edited there is no need for the user to be able to import or export those files using the Import Environment and Export Environment tools so their corresponding options have been removed from those tools; All of this was done to make VT Trader more multi-user and Windows® Vista friendly; As a result of this change, the [Set as Default] button located in the Indicator Properties window, when attaching a standard indicator to a chart, has been removed as well.
- New Alert functionality has been added to the following drawing tools: Trend Line, Horizontal Line, Gann Line, Gann Fan, Gann Grid, Horizontal Fibonacci Lines, Angled Fibonacci Lines, Fibonacci Arc, Fibonacci Fan, Standard Deviation Channel, Standard Error Channel, Raff Regression Channel, and Equidistant Channel; the new alert functionality includes the ability to define the data “source” for the alert, the “alert timing” (Breakout Intrabar w/ 3 different intrabar alert options and/or Breakout On Close), and the “alert options” (enable and define the alert message + enable and define the alert sound).
- Standard trading systems can no longer be edited by the user; upon making changes to a standard trading system and attempting to save, the user will be prompted to save the trading system as a custom trading system under a new name; If the user elects to save their changes, the modified, newly saved trading system will become a new custom trading system with a modified Name, a modified ShortName, and a unique file name (same as ShortName) in the folder designated for VT Trader custom trading systems; Furthermore, since standard trading systems can no longer edited there is no need for the user to be able to import or export those files using the Import Environment and Export Environment tools so their corresponding options have been removed from those tools; this was done to make VT Trader more multi-user and Windows® Vista friendly.
- New Logging system implemented; Archived logs are encrypted and always enabled; Additional Notes: “Logs will consume ~20MB of hard drive space per day on average; In order to help restrict the amount of spaced used by logs a new option called “Delete Logs Older Than n-Days” has been included in the Navigator Window>Options Bookmark>Properties>General>General Properties>Communication Bookmark (default is 7 days); The “Enable Logging” and “Log Level” options have been removed from Navigator Window>Options Bookmark>Properties>General>General Properties>Communication Bookmark since they are no longer necessary.
